maybe i've always been more comfortable in chaos

i just had this striking thought about sofia lamb while finishing bioshock 2 and with her speech “the surface is evil ; it’s better if everybody dies here"

jesus fucking christ, she witnessed fucking HIROSHIMA.
(massive trigger warnings) that kind of fucked up things

to her, that’s what the world above has become.

sofia lamb genuinely loves the rapture family - she might have done things because she was blinded by wrath towards delta at some point, but you can’t say she doesn’t love her people.

to her, it’s better if they all die in a "good, clean” explosions that will be sure to kill them, rather than to fear for them that something like hiroshima is going to happen again.

like most of the things she did, making persephone explode was an act of love for the people she cares for. and despite how selfish people might think this action was (and it kind of was, i admit it), she did not do it only because her utopia had failed - but because she didn’t want the rapture family to witness the true monstrosity of human kind on earth. in a way, it was a selfless act.
